Why are there so many people who look the same in greek and turkish comunnauties?

Why are there so many people who look the same in greek and turkish comunnauties? For example, on the football game yesterday, there were some guys who were very similar, it was quite strange... And girls also are very beautiful in both countries Why you Greeks and Turks have sometimes same face,same skin, same hair, same eyes,etc ?...

1. Genetics. Quite simple. Or, complicated, depending on how you look at it.
2. You can say the same thing about any race. They did a study and black people had a hard time differentiating between white people. To them all white people look the same. Now can you imagine china. Every body there looks like moe from the 3 stooges to me. Yet they know who is who over there. Which is a good thing since they have the world largest population.

4. You know, it's ironic how they actually hate each other. Well, their similarities probably have to do with the fact that their countries are near each other or that they have the same ancestors before they splitted into seperate countries. And haha, you have the hots for them. It's okay I like them all too.
5. why do white people all look the same? you could make this argument for any culture. it's because we're not use to their looks, so we can't distinguish all of the minute differences between each person. you could also say that because their cultures have been around for a very long time their gene pool is becoming less diverse. many peopel are sharing the same genes.
6. mnaybe its because the turkish conquest on greece last 400 years... maybe theyre all mixed now.. and maybe they have same ancestors...... mediterranean civilizations various grat greek ancient cities were in what is now turkey..... i think its a lot of years of being so close...
7. I don't think this is true. Maybe it looks like this to people from other countries, because both Turks and Greeks have dark hair -not all, of course, this is a stereotype also. But the 2 peoples come from completely different ancestry, and I for example can tell the difference between a Greek and a Turk on sight. Although we have lived together for many centuries, there have not been mixes between us in the past, due to religious difference and national problems.
8. One could say that Greeks and Italians look the same as well. People around the Mediterranean do have some similarities as opposed to the people of Northern Europe. South is dark complected in general and the North is light. Perhaps the climate has something to do with it.

10. Many mariages between muslims and greeks and jews in the ottoman period also many christians converted to Islam and muslims to Christianity. Apparently changing your religion was easy. Ps i read in a book that muslims paid less taxes, a lot of Christians asked to convert (to pay less taxes) but the Ottomans did not let them. Talking about money making the world go round
11. I wouldnt agree...Greeks are taller, and more white.Turks from European part are like us, and this, because they are mixted..But inside the Anatolia, it is not like that...and I wouldnt like to do comments

13. I often get annoyed by such simple minded questions. But let us ask more similar questions: 1- Why do Germans and French look the same? 2- Why do Fins and Swedish look the same (Fins are originally from the east)? 3- Why do Koreans and Vietnamese look so similar? 4- Why do Indians and Sri Lankans look so similar? If some people are trying to ridiculet either the Turks or the Greeks, or trying to invoke some racist views, well let them do so. Probably you are not aware of history much. We, the Turks have come westward from central Asia. It is only natural that we mixed some with other peoples on the way. The people in Turkey today do not look much alike their cousins in Turkmenstan or Uzbekstan for example. In fact our east Asian cousins look a bit like native Americans. How about that? Moreover, it is known that a lot of ethnic groups moved westward (and east) from Asia in ancient times. The forefathers of Greeks, Ions, Akas etc. is said to arrive in the Greek peninsula from Asia, following a route over the north coast of the Black Sea. Maybe the forefathers of Greeks and Turks were neighbors or relatives tens of thousands of years ago. Who knows. It would not bother me at all to know that I am related to Greeks. They are a great people. We have lived with them for a thousand years. It is some other western powers that keep saying Greeks and Turks are enemies. We are not. We are friends. And if you, or anyone else wants to check genetics (like Hitler), go ahead. You will probably find that we carry the same genes. But before you do that, check the ethnic background of everyone else in Europe and the Middle East. You will be surprised at the findings. Good day to you all Earthlings. :)
14. Vow! interesting question! We not only look like each other,but we also have the same cuisine(I must point out that ,I personally find the term of ethnic cuisine groundless as it is completely dependent upon the geographical and accordingly climatical conditions) and many of the food names are all common and music as well..You can also find a lot of similar and common things between Armenians and Turks. The funny thing is that neither Greeks nor Armenians like Turks and vice versa. Don't ask why again:-),just look it up in a history book,please. I completely agree with what you are saying about the girls in both countries:-)

I know that everybody have read Sera is backs answer, and I am happy to see she got into you so much that you had to delete her answer, but why are you afraid of the truth. let everybody have freedom of speech. you are so pathetic and whatever you do now is not going to clean your ancestor's horrible act toward others. Just admit and get over it, maybe then we will consider to have a talk with you!!!!!
