Why do turks still hate greek people, even today?
ok i must confess, even myself, still hate the turks and i even go to an international school where 85% of the whole school are turkish. the greek community in our school is very tight and close together because all together we are 10 kids. it really kills me on the inside having to listen to that language daily...but the other side is that i do have turkish friends, but most of the people..i can't even STAND them!...even the teachers are turkish and there is a huuge discrimination amongst us, greeks and them, the turks. i can't complain to the managers of this school, they are turkish too! through this thing i am living for 7 years in it (i'm year 7, and 13 y/o) and believe it or not, i don't live in turkey! i live in romania right now!! we have all seen the videos on youtube, google video etc etc. about how much both countries hate each other. a very little percentage of turks and greeks try to make peace videos between the two countries, but no success...what should i do??

- dear; in fact turks didn't hate until 4-5 years ago but in last years notice that greek media and government will never give up their hostile feelings due to historical events and their strategical aims. turks always had their humanistic feelings after all the nations unless the nation feel the opposite. this is a charasteristic for turkish people. you can also see those characteristics on far eastern nations where turks' reals roots came from. turkish characteristics doesnt like arabs but everyone esteem as it is. by the way (not to distract the subject) i am sure turkish people's hostile feelings will eventually vanish if there are some nation-wide symphatectic actions from the greek side. if ther was a poly in turkiye %95 of them would say they dont hate greeks but they are offended from their hostile behaviors.
- Dear... Obviously you are an open-minded youth, on the right path. Just ask yourself the questions: what are MY motives supporting my friendships and my hatred, and how do I compare the satisfaction obtained from these feelings? Friendship and all kinds of love need continuous effort, whereas hatred is destructive. Personally, all my Greek contacts have been worth remembering, and any negative feeling could not flourish at all. Furthermore; cultural, artistic and culinary encounters -which is real life in my opinion- for the two people is delightful. Wishing you an open-hearted and happy future.
- Your question is "why do Turks hate Greeks" but in your post you tell about your hatred towards Turks. Maybe, you should ask this question to yourself?
- I like greeks, as long as they don't do it greek style on me, gross
