Was Greek science known to the people of Mecca before Mohammad introduced Islam?
Thanks to a kind Muslim who was generous enough to spam Yahoo Answers forum with a statement disguised as a question, I was introduced to a website known as http://www.miraclesofthequran.com/scientific_index.html I have read all of them, and find most of these "scientific miracles" to be nothing more than inclusions and plagiarisms of the common knowledge in that era. What I want to know is, was Mecca socially isolated from the rest of the world, or did they have contact with people who knew of Greek science?

- Muhammad descended from a Christian family immigrated(because religion problems) from the west to Mecca(originally pagans) and they are like the believers and they have church there which Mu hammed used to go and pray but the pagans(non believers) usually attached to the Kabbah. Muhammad family worked in the trade business (rich family)and they usually travel forth and back to Palestine. So it is logical some knowledge would passed there, also there were some Greek statues also statue of the virgin merry and her son. Muhammad destroyed all the statues (Idols) after the victory of Islam ( combination of old testament and new testament with Muhammad own teachings)and only kept the virgin statue. I hope the above well give you some Idea about the back ground of Mecca.
