  1. cyprus is really nice paphos is where i have been more then 4 times over the years it is beautiful and very hot all year round. It is very cheap out their for food and drinks and we rent villias when we go which are nicer as they allow you to have your own swimming pool and are quite resonable we use james villas here is there website http://www.jamesvillas.co.uk/ you do not have to go through them to get your flieght you can book seperately i will garentee you will not be disappionted
  2. Rhodes, World Hertage City, very known to the british..The island of the buttrflies, of the 3 coloured sea,and of the knights.. Kos, the island of Hippocrates, and Patmos also..Dodecanese is wonderful...Inot because i am from there, but it is known)
  3. Try them all! They are all beautiful!
  4. Well it depends on what you want to do... For instance Mykonos is beautiful and has beautiful beaches but it is not offered for budget holidays. Paros, Naxos and Milos in the Cyclades complex have amazing beaches as well. The Ionian islands, as Corfu, Paxoi, Zakynthos, Kefallonia, Lefkada have breathtaking beaches. Skiathos is very beautiful as well, but it may be a little more complex for you to get there... As far as I know there are direct charter flights from England to Zakynthos, Heraklion (Crete), Rodos, Kos, possibly Mykonos and Corfu. All islands in Greece are beautiful. Even the smaller ones, if you want a totally relaxing holiday... Concerning the money, if you fly to Greece (Athens) with Olympic, Easyjet, British Airways you may need from 100-250 pounds for the tickets. I don't know the prices for charter flights... For a place to stay, depending on the island you choose you will needed at least 35 pounds per night until 200 pounds per night (depending on how luxurious or simple you want it to be). The cost of living at the islands is 5-7 pounds per drink, at least 10 pounds to eat each time (fresh fish are expensive, a steak will not be). At beaches with umbrellas you may get to pay for the umbrella and the seat (its 5-10 euro mostly). And now you do the math... :) In any case, there is something beautiful to all greek islands, like Santorini, Amorgos, Koufonisia, Patmos, Rodos, Samos, Lesvos, Folegandros, and the list goes on and on and on and on......
  5. Pick and choose the Aegean is full of beautiful islands. Some of my favorites are below but according to Empress of Austria Elisabeth of Bavaria Corfu was "the most beautiful spot on earth": ;^) Island of Milos http://evm.vr-consortium.com/titres/ilesgrecques/zze/zzon5/49713.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUjdaB_8wpc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M50MZIZdN8E Porto Katsiki beach on the island of Lefkada and Shipwreck Beach Navagio, Zakynthos are rated among the top 5 beaches in the world by "Condé Nast Traveler". :^) Lefkada Island, a hop/skip away just east of Lefkada is the famed island Skorpios that the British Royalty and others usually retreat to when in Greece courtesy of the Onassis family. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqMpW3OG2oo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iq9RS_NjDuo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMCHkj4UIYA Zakynthos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwSAYlfMqU4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ii5I39Gr8O0 The islands of Corfu and Kefalonia, both are regular secret get away places for many celebrities such as Stephen Spielberg, Madonna, Nicolas Cage, Bruce Springstein, Sean Connery, Tom Hanks, European Royals and many more have often been spotted on the islands. Kefalonia, American fashion designer John Varvatos' paternal origins are from Kefalonia. Both the novel and 2001 movie "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" were based & filmed on the island. The town of Fiskardo is a popular destination for many celebs. http://evm.vr-consortium.com/titres/ilesgrecques/zze/zzon1/47132.htm http://www.fiscardo.gr/gallery1.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmUpIKZUW3Y http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slzH7pcuAs4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axaAWVqrqik Corfu, The Empress of Austria Elisabeth of Bavaria, the so-called fairy queen, also known as Empress Sissi and who claimed "Greek genealogical roots" and a descendant of Manuel II Palaiologos, Emperor of the Byzantine Empire. She build the castle "Achilleion" on the island and would live there for lengthy periods of years, proclaiming the island the most beautiful spot on earth. The casino scene in the James Bond movie For Your Eyes Only was filmed at the castle Achilleion. http://evm.vr-consortium.com/titres/ilesgrecques/zze/zzon1/46175.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prWpBmCUHCM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmdpfSwzH4o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOmBpZS2z0A Santorini http://evm.vr-consortium.com/titres/ilesgrecques/zze/zzon5/50253.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nXgLk5CJhQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7za2tCnQ9gM The site below has some great pictures of Greek islands http://evm.vr-consortium.com/titres/ilesgrecques/zze/commun/slideshow.htm
  6. There are many islands and some of them are very different from each other as concerning the scenery or the cost of living or how many tourists they gather... If you like the traditional little white houses with no trees and beautiful beaches that are popular try Paros, Myconos , Ios, Sifnos,Santorini, Milos.. For more relaxed vacations Anafi, Amorgos, Folefandros, Patmos, Astypalaia, Symi.. For islands that have forests try Skiathos, Scopelos (I personally loved it), Alolnissos (not many tourists but you may see the endangered seal Monachus-Monachus there), Zakynthos, Kefalonia ,Lefkada, Kythira, Thasos..Rhodes, Krete, Corfu, Syros are bigger islands that have large population , large hotel units but you can also find small villages and quite beaches. As for the expenses from what I know Myconos and Santorini are the most expensive ones but if you search you can find more economical rooms to let.
  7. All the Greek islands are nice. Have a look through this lot and you can check the price as well
  8. My personal favourite is Antiparos. Its laid back and not very busy and has all the attractions of a greek island - BEACHES! :D:D wherevers you go i hope you have fun and deffinitely get a suntan!
