  1. Your questions are too big to even begin to answer in this format. Go to the link to Ancient Greece I have given below. I'm sure you can find all the answers there.
  2. I will give as brief an answer I can while doing the questions justice, though really you should look these up from several sources. 1. First there were no "peasants" in Greece. There were poor people, there were slaves, there were people who were and were not allowed to vote. Slaves, are probably the most interesting of the groups, in my opinion. Usually they were POWs that had to serve out their lives in service to the city state that had captured them. Slaves did have an upward mobility on the social ladder, depending on where they were. Slaves in Athens were even part of the police force. For awhile people could also be cast into slavery because of debuts owed to others though Solon reformed that. If you were a male citizen of a city state in Athens you could vote. In Sparta if you were a male citizen you were part of the military from 7 till death and you were required to take all your meals in the barracks. Females had more power in Sparta, since the men were away more often. Forigeners... tricky question. Like many cultures if Greecians found it expedient they would lie or steal from them or invade them. However they would get along in times of peace. They also had a lot of trade going for them with Egypt. 2. That's a loaded question. It was set up into 12 city states (check the number), after the people immigrated from across the Aegean sea. Depending on where they landed they set up different cultures the most prominent being Athens and Sparta. The city states were a loose confederation of sorts and would band together at times to face common enemies (the Delian League vs. the Persians), but would also fight each other at times (The Pelopenisian war). 3. Another huge question lets see: Phalanx military formation and shield wall was standard until rifles came about. Geometry and Algebra got their start, or at least a very heavy influence from Greece. Classical Arcithecture is Greecian Astronomy is directly related to the myths of Greece The Olympics came from Greece The idea of beauty is influenced heavily by Greece The borrower and lender system that heavily influenced peasents and serfs in later Europe came from Greece The Hippocratic oath that medical doctors take is from Greece. Pretty much you name it and Greece had an influence in Western Culture 4. Socrates' habit of questioning people through rhetoric founds the basis for argument in the legal system. Many of our ideas about wisdom, truth, love, and the cosmology of the universe come for Greek philosophers. Alexander the Great, a Macedonian (which was part of Greece) was taught by Aristotle one of the great philosophers of the time. Socrates may have also inspired the idea of a voice that tell one right from wrong. Most of our classical education comes from Greek philosophical thought. Look up Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle as well as The Academy and The Lyceum for more.
