History. Ancient Greece?
I need 3 examples of Ancient Greek city-states related to why they, or mainly Greek city-states itself, were independent throughout Greek history

- Macedonia. that's the only answer i have justifiable with reasons.
- ALL City States were independent. The long lasting ones were Athens Sparta and Rhodes, They were independent as in the Greek mind the best kind of country , the best equilibrated and nearest to human being, was State- City and neither a big one, but, as said Aristotle, one were "every citizen could know any other one". This allowed a direct partecipation to city life and political deicision... And maybe they were true... ;)
