What was the impact of geography on Greece's civilization for their land? Thank You

- Greece is a rocky, mountainous region that made early unity hard and set up the famous city-state civilizations. Its close proximity to the sea made the Greeks natural sailors and traders as well as (like the Japanese) people who turned to the sea for food. Minoan and later Aegean Civilizations used trade to create powerful and well supplied societies.
- Because of the nature of the land the Greeks tended to work on the city state principal, rather than a national one.
